IDENTITY THEFT ALERT JULY 14TH: My business name and phone number have been STOLEN! If you have a $1.00 charge on your credit card from GreenMan Gifts, please immediately call your bank and cancel or place a hold on your account, BECAUSE YOUR CREDIT CARD HAS BEEN STOLEN! Not by me, but by an IDENTITY THIEF. What they are doing with the $1.00 charge is fishing to see if your account is good so they can place more charges on your account that WILL go directly to them. If you do not cancel your credit card you will start getting charges from overseas accounts for much more than $1.00. One lady I spoke to has received over $250.00 in charges, not from me but from other false companies. I have contacted my merchant account and they are refunding all the $1.00 charges and then will be shutting down my account. This is all I can do from my end. I am very sorry this has happened but I have no control over it, I only hope the impact to your accounts is not too great.

UPDATE JULY 16TH: My merchant account has completed all the $1.00 refunds and has shut down my merchant account. I have received over 50 calls in the last 2 days, thank you to the ones who where were pleasant, because not all of you have been. I have received several good questions that I confirmed with my merchant account, here are a few...
Q: How did you get my cc # since I have never done business with you?
A: The Identity Thiefs had already stolen your number from somewhere else not related to my business. About 90% of the calls are coming from the Austin area, so my guess is a company in that area has a security problem. Two of the people who called have the same bank, so it might be your bank.
Q: Can your merchant account still refund the $1.00 if my account is closed.
A: Yes, it will go back to the issuing bank.
Q: Are you responsible for the other charges on my account.
A: No, I am a victim as you are. The other charges on your account are going directly to the thief in an overseas account and I have nothing to do with them.
This problem does not affect my eBay business or my face to face sales.
